Lilia Peraza is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the State of Florida, who has a wealth of experience in taxation with 30 years in the Internal Revenue Service and with a Master of Science in Taxation degree from Florida International University. Her wealth of experience includes a broad spectrum of business models including corporations, partnerships and sole proprietorships while working across many industries such as retailing, wholesaling, manufacturing, transportation, construction, as well as, medical and other service industries. Prior to the Internal Revenue Service, Lilia was on the accounting team of a multinational company, Dow Chemical.
Lilia’s tenure with the IRS also includes extensive experience in the IRS’s International Division where she handled cases with international and complex issues addressing abusive tax avoidance transactions. Lilia was also a Senior Program Analyst on a team working on the implementation of provisions of the Affordable Care Act, which fell under the responsibility of the Large Business and
International Division (LB&I). Having achieved success in these assignments, Lilia was made a Technical Specialist for the Offshore Arrangements Practice Network of LB&I WIIC (Withholding and International Individual Compliance), where she provided training, guidance, and coordination to field agents in identifying and developing issues in their examinations of individuals engaged in offshore activities.
Throughout her 30 years with the IRS, Lilia worked extensively reconstructing and analyzing complex accounting records to identify and expose tax evasion/avoidance schemes. Over those years, Lilia identified the costly consequences to taxpayers who were ill represented.
